Welcome to Budo Academy of Karate-Do, the premier destination for martial arts training in Eastern India. Founded in 2017, our academy is dedicated to teaching traditional and authentic karate, with affiliations to the prestigious International Karate-Do Gojukai Association- India affiliated to IKGA- Japan.

Our Sensei

Sensei Samarjit Mullick, the guiding force behind Budo Academy, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our dojo. An alumnus of Calcutta Boys' School, Sensei Mullick holds a B.Sc. degree in Genetics (Hons) and an M.Sc. degree in Molecular Biology. Beyond his academic accomplishments, he serves as an Assistant Teacher at Indian Public School, Howrah, showcasing his commitment to education both in and out of the dojo.

With 18 years of Karate experience and Gold Medal winner in International Karate Championship, 2019 and 12 years of teaching experience, Sensei Mullick holds a 3rd Dan Black Belt certified by Japan and 4th Dan awarded by World Budo Karate Association (USA). He is also a qualified referee under the Union of Gojuryu Karate-Do Federation India (UGKFI) and Karate India Organisation (KIO). With over 18 years of experience, Sensei Mullick specializes in traditional Gojuryu karate. He emphasizes the importance of kata (Forms) and the philosophical aspects of karate-do and traditional karate. As an Asian and National Referee, he provides exceptional guidance and mentorship to students, helping them understand the intricacies of kata and kumite competition rules.
